  • I'm asking here as i am not sure where to post this

I was diagnosed with stage 1.1b endometrial cancer in December, I am having everything taken away soon .
We have contacted the regular bills companies and the water board have been amazing , they've put the account on hold for now , we are waiting to hear back from the mortgage who are being very kind also . We've contacted the utility company who we are with and waiting to hear back from them ,we've asked for any help they can offer us .
I have a CCJ which I pay monthly there is only around £470 left on it but I only pay a pound a month which was set by the courts , then hubby has a debt which is a charge on the house , we pay them £5 a month off that .
The thing is hubby is self employed and right now he has closed the business because my panic and anxiety disorder has hit the roof . I have agoraphobia and can't be left alone . We are living off working tax credits right now . Macmillan have told me to claim PIP which I have and I am waiting for the form to come . I have been told by various people I won't get PIP as they don't like giving it out , but right now I have got to try . If I get PIP then my husband can claim carers as he looks after me , and I am grateful as he is going through it right now as my panic and anxiety is so awful .
If anyone knows if I can ask for the two debts to be written under the circumstances would be great and although it is only a small amount the stress of it being there adds to the worry and stress .
    Thank you x

The chances are you will get the pip payments. It takes a little while and they’ll probably do a telephone interview if you haven’t already.
what is the total of the debts?

Hi thanks , I hope that is right about PIP , the total debt that are through the court are a charge on the house in hubbies name and about £5,000, the other is £470 , the small debt is through Robinson way .

The original form for PIP hasn't arrived , it was sent out 15thDec , I received a text asking me to send it back so they could make a decision , my husband called them last Monday to tell them it hadn't arrived and they sent a second out which hasn't come yet , they set the date back the 15th December so i hasn't made a difference there .

How to claim PIP - Citizens Advice read this save as to time - be prepared with paperwork it can be done over phone? BUT it seems no back dating of claim if successful,

Generally once you have requested a form etc then if successful that is the date commences?

Please don’t be offended by my next question, I am looking to understand.
why do you suffer stress/anxiety, is there an underlying reason?

Yes this has made it worse , the support nurse has already arranged for help with this and the hospital I am having the surgery know about it too and I've been told I will be supported for it .

I contacted Hoist finance to ask if they would write the debt off, they replied , but they say I have two accounts with them , I know they bought a statute barred debt and have been bugging me to pay it , so they can whistle for that one .
They are asking for a I&E form for me to fill in and also send them some medical evidence of my diagnosis , they've put both accounts on hold for 30 days .

I am not acknowledging the second debt as its been statute barred for eleven years in July this year .

                            I wouldn't send them an I&E either.
