Fraudsters have adopted yet another cunning ruse to defraud people of their money - sending out genuine-looking e-mails purporting to come from TV Licensing. There has been a sharp rise this week in the number of people contacting Action Fraud about the bogus e-mails, which are designed to steal victims' bank account details. The scam e-mail offers a refund for over payments of TV Licence fees, but states that it needs bank details to be updated before the refund can be released. The e-mail then directs people to a website designed to look like TV Licensing's own website with a form to enter details. Action Fraud says that in reality, the website has been set up to look authentic but all it does is give the fraudsters a chance to steal savings.....Read more here
