The paper counterpart to photocard driving licences will be axed from 1 January - following in the footsteps of the tax disc - but drivers face car hire delays in the UK and fraudulent emails surrounding the change. People hiring cars could face higher bills and longer queues in the New Year when the paper part is scrapped because an online service to replace them has not been introduced yet, car rental companies warned - leaving them to call a premium rate number instead. The DVLA recently warned fraudsters were sending out emails asking people to click a link to verify their driving licence, which if followed could see them compromised and their bank details stolen.....Read more here
