Finance Police in Italy release a video of officers stopping and searching a car carrying counterfeit 50 euro banknotes totalling an equivalent of £13 million

Finance Police in southern Italy apprehended a vehicle on Tuesday which was carrying a load of fake 50 euro notes totalling 17 million euros (£13 million). Police were investigating a tip-off of suspicious activity at a shopping mall car park in Marcianise, in the Campania region, when they noticed a man frenetically moving boxes from a shipping service vehicle into his own small van. According to a police statement, they followed the van and pulled it over. In the back of the vehicle they found several boxes containing the bank notes, which were covered with office supplies.
