Consultation over futures of 4,000 staff could begin this
Fears are growing that Visa Europe, the payments group, is preparing to cut jobs, with a consultation over redundancies possibly starting this month. The credit card provider, led by new chief executive Nicolas Huss, has been carrying out a business-wide review in an effort to identify efficiencies and make the company more “agile”. Following that assessment, the group could start looking at redundancies by the middle of the month. Although Visa Europe has employees in 37 countries, the brunt of any losses are likely to fall in the UK, where the business is headquartered and the majority of staff are based.
