Parking fines could be reduced and five minute grace periods made a statuary requirement the Government has announced following criticism local councils are milking the parking enforcement ‘cash cow’. It comes as figures out today revealed that councils made a profit of £317million last year from parking tickets and fines – an increase of 56 per cent since the election in 2010.
