The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned two adverts for Loans 2 Go Ltd after it found the “jolly” ads were in contrast to the “serious nature” of taking out a loan. The two television adverts for the logbook loans provider featured a man dressed in Austrian costume, with lederhosen and a feathered cap who appeared playing an accordion. To the tune of ‘For he’s a jolly good fellow’, the man sang: “For cash today, use loans2go, for cash today, use loans2go, for cash today, use loans2go, you still get to keep your car.”Towards the end of the ad, the man in Austrian costume handed a car owner a wad of £20 notes and he was then seen smiling....Read more here
