An investments company that was promoted by the former Manchester United and England football star Lee Sharpe has been closed down by the High Court as a scam several months after I warned against it. Green Planet Investment, based in Soho, Central London, promised returns of up to 30 per cent on land and apartments at resorts in Brazil. Nearly 300 investors paid £14million for a stake in the White Sands Country Club and the Genipabu Beach Club, but Green Planet boss Brett Jolly admitted to investigators from the Insolvency Service that no building work was ever started at the site in Natal, Brazil.
