The government has announced it will hand out fines to claims firms which use unsolicited calls and texts to gather information. The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has confirmed it is introducing “tough” new rules as part of a crackdown on rogue firms which it claims are responsible for “bombarding” the public with misleading advertising and “flooding” banks with unsubstantiated claims for compensation. The fines are expected to be brought in next year as part of law changes being made through the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Bill which is currently progressing through parliament.....Read more here
