Barclays is to overhaul the way it charges for overdrafts. It comes after thousands told the bank its fees for breaching an agreed overdraft were baffling and too complicated to understand. Barclays currently charges as much as £88 a month to current account holders who keep breaching an agreed £500 overdraft limit to dip into the red. This compares to roughly £28 at both First Direct and Nationwide building society, but £100 at Santander and £150 at Halifax, according to research by price comparison site Moneysupermarket.com.....Read more here
