A man posing as a successful bond salesman infiltrated Royal Bank of Scotland's trading floor and was handed a desk at the company, a tribunal has heard.
KK Ho was shown the door at RBS after managers discovered that he had been at the bank for months despite not being the high-flying trader he claimed to be. He had allegedly attended meetings with senior management, spoken to customers and wandered the trading floor, according to Bloomberg. Mr Ho reportedly boasted of having a list of wealthy clients, and printed off a set of business cards to back up his claims. Mr Ho had worked in the RBS building in property services, but was told he was being laid off and given a desk at the premises, which he was supposed to use to find a new role. This gave him access to the building despite the fact that he had no manager supervising him and was not on the books. According to the report, human resources and compliance staff only discovered the situation when managers began to ask who he was.
