Co-operative Energy is to increase prices for 106,000 customers, adding £100 per year to the average dual fuel bill. Customers on its Pioneer tariff will see gas rise by 8.5 per cent and electricity by 9 per cent from 9 May. The energy supplier blamed the hike on 'escalating costs', including transportation and energy. It said that transportation costs had increased by 12 per cent from the 1 April and that energy costs had risen by 5 per cent following their last price change in November last year. Last year the supplier reduced the cost of its tariff by 2 per cent as other major suppliers pushed up costs by an average of 8.5 per cent.....Read more here
