Lloyds will rebrand 632 branches under the TSB name by the start of September, regardless of whether the deal to sell them to the Co-operative Bank goes ahead. The deal has hit problems, thought to centre on whether the Co-op can satisfy regulators about the amount of capital it sets aside for the new operation. It had been expected that the Co-op would apply the TSB brand under its ownership, but with the deal looking ever more shaky, insiders said Lloyds was keen to show it could still dispose of the branches without the Co-op by spinning off the business as a stand-alone bank through a public share offer.....Read more here
