mobyloan.com breaches ASA rules
A payday loan firm breached advertising rules with a faked testimonial which is still displayed on its website. Short term loans business mobyloan.com fell foul of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) last week over a testimonial claiming its loans process was “quick and simple.” The testimonial on the homepage of the firm’s website reads: “I can’t believe how quick and simple the whole process was … – Susan B. (Nurse, Sheffield)”. The ASA last week ruled the testimonial was misleading as mobyloans.com, which did not respond to the ASA, did not produce any evidence the claim was genuine.
