Utilities supplier SSE launches simplified tariffs system and website price-comparison tool. Energy company SSE has slashed the number of tariffs it offers and launched a price-comparison tool to help customers choose the cheapest deal for their needs. The energy supplier, which is the second largest in the UK and provides gas and electricity to consumers through Southern Electric, Hydro and Swalec brands, and an online arm called Atlantic, said this was "the most significant change" it had ever made to its range. SSE customers can now choose from four core products: two fixed-price deals and two variable-rate deals, one offering a discount on the standard tariff to customers who are prepared to tie in for two years.
