A man who left his partner nearly 20 years ago is not entitled to half the value of the house they shared, the Supreme Court has ruled. The decision could set a precedent for unmarried couples around the UK after ruling that 51 year old Leonard Kernott was entitled to 10 per cent of the value rather than half, as a previous ruling had decided. Mr Kernott and Patricia Jones, 56, bought the bungalow in 1985 and took out a joint mortgage.
