Money Advice charity Bristol Debt Advice Centre (BDAC) is celebrating more than two decades of delivering free advice and education within disadvantaged communities in the South West. To mark its 21st anniversary, BDAC is holding a city centre conference event at the Watershed Media Centre in Bristol. Carol Alexander-Reid, BDAC’s Director, said:

“21 years on, problematic debt remains one of the main contributors to poverty in the UK. The root causes of debt are complex and widely misunderstood. Debt problems impact every aspect of society, affecting individuals, families and children. Usually stemming from unexpected life events like severe ill health or relationship breakdown, sometimes there’s very little our clients can do to mitigate.
