Experian has been rapped by the advertising watchdog for an advert that falsely claimed credit reports could be accessed instantly. The Experian ad was banned after the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ruled it was misleading. The claim on the credit information group’s website offered: ‘Instant access to your personal Experian credit report, as well as your credit score and identity protection insurance - sign up for a 30 day trial’.

However, a complaint made to the ASA queried the ‘instant access’ claim.
