Debt collection agency Allied International Credit (AIC) has appointed Alan Evans as managing director with effect from 1 September.

Evans takes over from Kenny Johnston who has been promoted to the role of global executive vice-president, overseeing operations in United Kingdom, United States and Canada. He joins from Marlin Financial Group, where for the last two years he has been Managing Director. His AIC remit is the day to day leadership and management of the UK business which incorporates Glasgow, Manchester and Basingstoke.

Evans has been in the financial services industry for 25 years and previously worked for the Lombard Group and Paragon Group in senior management roles until 2001. In 2001 he joined Clydesdale Financial Services until 2009 where, as chief executive, he left after the successful sale and handover of the business to Barclays. Johnston said: "AIC has strengthened our UK business with the appointment of Alan. His experience will add additional compliance and innovation, ultimately enhancing our client delivery and our client’s customer experience."
