Remember few decades ago, a sister in law who married a yank came over with her Husband and child, he heard about British pubs and spit-toons, so I took him out one night and we tried a few old pubs, one I remember was a country pub( which was once a (Blue Coat Boys Home), complete with a large ingle nook and flag stones including spit-toons and saw dust in one area, the bar was full of local farmers, he ended going homes worse for wear after drinking cider with the farmers and stating he was o.k. drinking!

I got it in the ear next day from the then sister in law.

I used to drink a barley wine called Biarritz at the Mecca when I was 16/17. We really thought we were living the high life, especially as we'd just been drinking Australian white wine in Yates' Wine Bar...complete with sawdust on the floor

Do you remember thinking we were posh buying a bottle of Blue Nun wine, Black Tower wine or Mateus Rose (they were the only wines back then)

I can remember going on a school trip and taking patent black peep toe shoes, white knitted tights with the holes up the side, a black suede mini skirt with poppers down the front and a white top. Oh dear!

When my DDs laugh at old photos of me I just tell them that one day they'll look back and wonder why on earth they wore the clothes they did

I can remember hot pants with a skirt! What about the mini smocks? And a purple maxi coat which looked great with green tights

Goodness, I remember that chow mein. I only liked the crispy curly bits that went on top!

My first school disco, I bought an outfit in Tammy Girl. It was a metallic purple ra-ra skirt, with white shirt, purple tank top (complete with purple metallic threading through it) a white fake fur jacket, high heeled metallic shoes and a nifty pair of ankle warmers.

I wish I had a photo to prove how cool I thought I looked
