The case was heard in the High Court and I have done a little summary here: Libel Blog: Media & Hearing Summary

Some pics on the main page too... was a very tiring day but also quite fun because of the two friends that attended with me.

Pretending the huge box housed a batch of kittens whilst on the underground was quite amusing... strange looks from the passengers

Found the blog interesting VJ. As my background in working life was in the physics industry I don't necessarily agree with all that Hawking has to say but that is an argument for another day.

That's the beauty of free speech. You don't have to agree with everything everyone says.

But if there is a fact, or something which has failed to be disproven, which someone denies they have to accept that there is a social price to pay for that belief.

We all agree that alleging that Elvis is still alive is a pretty bonkers idea. There are people who truly believe it but there is a very good reason why it is not permeating the halls of academia.

I think I only managed to get the issue raised here because of my reputation on CAG.

CAG would never post it though... fell out with their "leaders" far too many times. Not because I was being a pain but because I complained that they released a few peoples data (inc. mine) to Cabot upon request.

Seriously though, it's too temperamental and entirely irrelevant to AAD so let's not encourage it. vjohn has a different fight altogether - it's relevant in the context of beating away a libel claim.
