    Hi All!

Received reply from scotcall debt collecting services to my "Harassment and threat of doorstep" that I sent on 7/9/12.

".......The case you have referred to is not applicable to your curcumstances. As part of the credit agreement that you signed and entered into, you agreed to replay the full outstanding balance and that where necessary, the creditor could recover the debt by outsourcing the debt to a third party, which included by way of doorstep collection" Is the right?

So, "Harassment and threat of doorstep" template does not work with these bullies??

Please advise what to do next?

          Everybody!

Not heard from creditors for a while as you can see from my last posting date.

But today I received a text to my mobile from scotcall.

"This is an important message from scotcall regarding account. Please call us on 0844 257 8538 quoting reference ******** to discuss. Thank you"

How on earth did they find my no.??
I know my mobile phone provider do update monthly with credit file company, are they allow to give my no. to scotcall?

I have never used my mobile to talk to any creditors.........it really is baffling me.

          Anyone??

Thank you in advance. bobo x

I had the same letter from them too. I did note a couple of questions for them, such as if I can't be supplied a copy of the CCA they say I signed how am I expected to know that and, assuming by the letter they have a copy, can they send me one please?

I was going to ask those questions when the doorstep collector turned up..........

It's annoying when you get stuff like that on your mobile. How long have you had the number? If quite a while the odds are it's out there on interweb....

possibly if it is a paug you could change the sim card and then just give the number to trusted friends and family that is what I did and never had any such calls in yonks.

Some mobile providers have a telephone directory, you need to check and ask for your number to be x directory, thats what i did with mine some years ago.

Or you may have rang the OC years ago from your mobile and they logged the number.

Send them a copy of the one you sent previously, with a short covering note.

"please refer to my previous letter to xxxxxxxxxx, copy attached"

Make it clear that you are waiting for your complaint to be resolved.

Hmmm, you ought to now respond to it and actually be a little clearer; Paul posted how to respond to a letter of claim but I don't have it handy so will wait for a mod to post it for you.
