Hi and welcome to AAD. As long as an account is active, so records will be maintained showing any defaults etc. Payday loans and companies like Brighthouse are known to give credit to people who have a poor credit rating and will always lower your rating even if being paid.

Hi I'm new to the forum, I've been looking into my credit file. I use to be a real nightmare with paying things, but for the last 4-5 years, I've been better with it. all my payments except 1 have either been settled or I'm still paying them egs. I just don't understand how it can be so bad, my file says - very poor - I do have an account with brighthouse and when my brother lost his job I was getting him wonga loans they were all paid and upto date, would these give bad credit even though they are paid in full and on time please if any one can help me I would very thankful
