I don't know very much about this, but do the regs apply to rolling credit agreements where the two parties never meet ? ie you pick up an application form in a supermarket for a credit card...or cut out an ad from a newspaper .

If the regs do apply, are the conditions with regards to supplying documents significant in terms of ensuring delivery before the 7 day cooling off period ?

Unless you go into a bank and are awarded a credit card there and then by the provider, I think all running accounts are set up at a 'distance'.

In Homebase when you make a large purchase and they try and get you one of their 'higher interest than most' credit cards with £60 of vouchers thrown in, they get their provider to credit check you there and then. BUT can you cancel within 7 days? Only if you pay immediately for your new kitchen and return the vouchers. If you don't pass the online credit check, you don't get one.
