Irritating txt msgs

I'm getting txt msgs from organisations asking if I need their services to claim this or that back - this has surely got to be a breach of my data protection rights?

1. How did they get my number
2. Who do I report them to
3. How do I get them to stop
4. How do I find out who they are

I had an odd one today asking if I wanted to claim following my accident - I haven't had an accident! I'm guessing it's just spam hoping to get lucky

just don't read them and delete, I got loads of phone calls after I broke my ankle, some bugger somewhere supplies these parasites with your info. There is a mobile directory inquiries which I believe you can have your number removed from???

I've had them about an accident (that I have not yet had!) and debt help. I just ignore them and hope they will get bored and go away. The DCA's don't have my phone number so they are on a fishing expedition.

Who do I report them to

Complain to the information commissoners office.
