  • Default Question

    Hi Everyone,

I have a quick question regarding defaults.

I know they last for 6 years but remain on your file for a few weeks after until they disappear.

During those few weeks, are they still visible if a lender were to do a search or are they only visible for the actual 6 years?

    Thanks in advance,
    Beefy

    Re: Default Question

It's usually only Equifax that are slowcoaches in removing them.

As Riz says; however if you can see them then so can a possible lender.

Thank you - I will sign up to the monitoring services and hope they remove it quite quickly.

        Thank again.

          Re: Default Question

I have just had a look on Experian and whole account has gone completely however Equifax have put the account into the closed section but it is still showing as defaulted.

It says 'reported until - February 2015' - Hopefully this means it will disappear next week with a bit of luck!
