  • DEED POLL changes.

    Hi All,
It seems that the days of doing a smart Deed Poll may be coming to an end,the UK government now
says you can put your new name on public record by ‘enrolling’ it at the Royal Courts of Justice. This costs £36.

    WHO WOULD DO THAT?.

Normally not anyone I know however I have noticed RBS/ NatWest now requires that any name change using a deed poll
has to be registered (enrolled) as above.

Other banks show for the moment that a standard Deed Poll can be used.

For those people who use deed poll's this could cause an issue.

    Hi All,
Just an update to this,UKPA (UK passport) and DVLA (driving licence) both still accept the original
not registered Deed Poll, MENTAL..... Government agency's don't even use there own system yet.

    Priceless.

Hi I have just changed my name using an unenrolled deed poll from the UK Deed Poll Service at www.changemyname.org.uk. I didn’t mind paying the £14 or so for the guidance and sample letters to government agencies and banks etc.

My unenrolled deed poll was accepted by everyone I sent it to, including HM Passport office, DVLA and HMRC without the slightest fuss.

Plus it was cheaper than an enrolled Deed and I do love saving money ??
