A television advert by online lender Borro has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
The advert depicted a man and woman discussing what to do with a loan obtained from the exchange of a watch for, including “flying to the Caribbean”. A voiceover during the advert also said: “With Borro, you can secure a loan using assets like jewellery, art, antiques. It’s fast, easy, and there’s never a credit check.” The ASA responded to three complaints over the advert, which challenged whether it was irresponsibly encouraging viewers to obtain loans in order to finance non-essential purposes, such as holidays......Read more here
