as customers claim nearly £3bn compensation in just six months
The extent of the payment protection insurance mis-selling scandal continues to unfold as the number of complaints to financial companies soared to 2,232,294 between January and June this year up 129 per cent on the previous six months. Compensation for this and other general insurance and 'pure protection' insurance products hit £2,990 million during the period, data from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) showed today, after claims came in at the rate of one every seven seconds.The major banks have set aside sums totalling more than £9billion to compensate individuals who were mis-sold PPI.....Read more here: Banks hit with a PPI complaint every 7 SECONDS as customers claim nearly £3bn compensation in just six months
