Mortgage giant Halifax has become the first lender to offer to refund homebuyers' valuation fees if their purchase falls through. Britain's biggest mortgage lender says that it will return the cost of the standard valuation, which depends on a property’s size and starts at £370, to the buyer if the purchase does not go ahead through no fault of their own.
